ERIS Experts - Lenka Krhutová

Disability and its effects on individuals, families and society are a topic of substantial individual as well as society-wide importance. The usual framework within which solutions for the effects of disability are sought is oriented, for the most part, toward healthcare, systems of social protection and employment policies. However, solutions are also closely intertwined with socio-spatial aspects (barrier-free environments and the Design For All concept), education (accessibility education) and the economic impacts of disability at all levels (micro, mezzo and macro).

Doc. Mgr. Lenka Krhutová, Ph.D. is one of the expert consultants of ERIS. She has gained long years of experience in practical social work with disabled clients, as well as in the creation and implementation of social policies - both at the nationwide and regional levels - in the area of education, counselling and the management of organisations providing social work services. Her research and publication activities also focus on  the aforementioned areas.

She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Czech National Disability Council (CNDC). She participates in the creation and implementation of national policies of the Czech Republic in relation to people with  disabilities: she is active in the Government Board for People with Disabilities (GBPD) where she was a member of the specialised task force for social policy, and at present she is a member of the task force for regional development as well as chairing the task force for education.

For many years, Lenka Krhutová has also been working as a forensic expert in the field of social rehabilitation of people with disabilities.

Within the framework of ERIS, she can offer professional advice and consulting for research at the governmental, regional as well as local levels.
